Hi, I'm You might remember me from such stories as the To The Haunted Woods series and the on-going Big City Life saga. As you are no doubt aware, there has been a discussion going on the forum about re-evaluating certain aspects of the setting. Well, I've got some good news, two new discussions have emerged following the first discussion. The first of such is a discussion about developing Kortiki Town. You all know what Kortiki Town is, right? Well, that place has a lot of potential, so it'd be nice to give it some attention to help it flourish. The second discussion is more so a compilation of what you think are the most fundamental aspects of Felarya, what you think are the most essential and vital aspects of the setting that cannot be removed under any circumstances. I'll leave a pair of links to the discussions down below for you to read. If you want to add to either discussion, by all means, you can make an account on the forum, or just participate in the comment section of this very blog. will probably compile both discussions so we don't have to. Ain't he just swell?
Let's talk about Kortiki: felarya.forumotion.com/t3892-l…
Felarya Fundamentals: felarya.forumotion.com/t3893-f…
On the subject of development, while developing the wiki so that new ideas help develop the setting and updating things so that it evolve from a patchwork of outdated and fresh ideas into something that's hopefully clear and cohesive is all well and nice, no matter how many ideas get added, it's ultimately all for naught if they don't get used in stories and/or pictures, isn't it? So out of pure scientific curiosity, how do you use ideas already listed in the wiki? What role do they serve in your stories? Do you go out of your way to use ideas that are rarely used, or do you stick to the same tried and true ones? Please, feel free to post your opinions in the comment section.
While on the subject of stories, you may or may not be aware that there is a bit of schism about how stories in Felarya should be made or be about. Some people like the usual vore and fetish-centric stories that don't take themselves very seriously, but others think the place has a lot of untapped potential that's worth exploring, or they'd like something more serious and "realistic". So, also out of scientific curiosity, what do you guys like to see in stories about Felarya? What themes do you prefer to explore? Vore? Fetish? Fantasy? Sci-fi? The sense of wonder? The everyday life in Negav? Something else? What is your preferred tone in a story? Do you like something serious and dark with an ongoing plot, do you prefer something lighthearted that doesn't take itself very seriously, something in-between? How do you think a story should be written? Please, feel free to post what your thoughts in the comment section.
And now, everyone's favorite thing ever, a shameless plug! Me and my buddy(?) have been updating certain races in the wiki. Most of their articles were very bare and only gave the races very little unique characteristics to help them stand out from humans. Now they have received much more fleshed out entries oozing with delicious extra details. More details in fact that you probably won't know what to do with them all. So, if you want to see their shiny new articles with all the extra juicy added details, I'll post links down below.

Pranks
:bulletblue: :bulletblue: :bulletblue: :bulletblue: :bulletblue:
Let's start the year with a new group contest ;3
This time it will be for artists. Zabas392, the previous winner, chose the theme:
Pranks ! In a sense it's a bit similar to the trick one but it could still yield some fun results, and this time it's for drawers :D
So draw a Felaryan character messing with another ! It could be some harmless fun, or some fun that end up down a gullet X3 ( in that case that was probably a trick as well ! ). It could be a pred teasing a tiny or the other way around or just one pred messing up with a friend of their size for example. After a
Contest winner
Well we have a winner for the trick contest ^^ ( not too soon I know ^^; )
I apologize for taking so much time to decide for this one. I'll make up for it with something special from me for the next writing contest ;3
There was really a lot of great entries, well written and creative. The winner was not easy to pick but in the end I chose ~Zabas392 (https://www.deviantart.com/zabas392) for :thumb808626749: :winner:
That story was both really cute and funny while being right on the mark concerning the theme. It was well paced and well described, making the whole scene easy to visualize and it put a big silly grin on my face at the end :D
Congratulations ! You
Tricks
Well the last theme didn't inspire you guys much ^^; We'll close the contest and move on a different theme, this time for writers :)
As usual, the winner will be featured in the group page, and will get to choose the theme of the next contest.
The theme is : tricks
Surprise, deception, and ruse are all important tools to survive in Felarya. Sometimes one has to think quickly or outside the box to trick others creatures in order to gain an advantage, be it for a predator to catch a stubborn prey or for a prey, to avoid ending up in a stomach !
So tell the story of either a predator in Felarya catching a prey using an unexpected trick :
Temporarily offline
Hi. As I posted on my main page, due to current health issues, I’m very likely to be offline for the next few days. Which means I won’t be able to see to submissions to the gallery. Sorry.
Edit (20 July): I'll now be away for three weeks, and unlikely to be online much, if at all.

Personally...
I don't quite strike a middle ground between the serious and the silly. I try to find a way to mesh them into something worse than both things separately: I want the silliness to be the arbitrary component that reinforces the seriousness of the situation, and the seriousness to reinforce just how silly it all is. A good example would be a SWAT team being collectively trampled to death during a stampede of mimes miming a marathoner. It's tragic, absurd, unfair, and just wrong. So I guess I do tend in a way towards the darker themes- themes such as despair, alienation, disbelief, horror, helplessness, and my favourite: the struggle to continue to live and love in the face of it all.
When writing a story, I always keep in mind what is it I'm after. I drift towards the horrible things on my own, so I need to keep in mind that sometimes, I'm not trying to suck out the reader's soul. Rarely is it just about the plot: I like plot, but I want readers to care about the plot, which means I need the reader to FEEL, and the reader can probably feel things other than misery and despair, so there's some point in writing something uplifting from time to time.
I used to use more ideas in my stories, it seemed to help a reader feel more Felarya in things. But now, the novelty's wore off. I try to adapt ideas into stories only if they can be played as central to the plot, so that a reader who's seen the wiki can at least imagine he's being winked at. I don't know which ideas are used the most, so that aspect doesn't play a role to me.
I used to read a lot more- now I don't really read much. It was outright pointless to try and read everything; the ones I enjoy the most... well, the ones I read first, for nostalgia value, actually. Sad as this is to admit, I don't know how to appreciate top tier writing the way some people do. I still enjoy a good plot from time to time, though.
